Inherited Narratives explores the stories we inherit in childhood and the ways they shape our identities before we are conscious enough to choose for ourselves. Through figurative work rooted in memory and lived experience, this body of work examines family dynamics, emotional environments, and the subtle ways our earliest experiences influence who we become. Each piece revisits moments that contributed to my own understanding of self, examining themes of longing, distance, control, and fragmentation. Rather than attempting to rewrite or resolve the past, this series considers childhood as an origin story — a collection of experiences that became the earliest drafts of who we would eventually become.

Drawing Closer

Drawing Closer explores my journey of rebuilding my relationship with God. Each piece is titled after a specific Bible verse that resonates with the experience depicted. Through this narrative, I aim to create space for those who have come to understand that connecting with God is more about relationship than religion.

Send nudes

Send Nudes explores the art and ritual of creating intimate images of oneself. Through a series of graphite drawings, I consider the thought, effort, and intention that can exist behind an image often viewed as casual or fleeting—from posing and composition to the way we choose to see and present our own bodies.

The series began with my interest in the culture of taking and sending nudes, but it also considers the image beyond its recipient. A nude can be created for intimacy, for someone else’s gaze, or simply for yourself. In that space, the act becomes one of self-observation and personal expression: choosing the image, controlling what is revealed, and deciding what it means.

By translating these private, digital moments into graphite drawings, Send Nudes gives permanence to images typically meant to exist temporarily on a screen. The series explores the line between intimacy and self-expression while celebrating the care and artistry involved in creating an image of oneself.
